I stumbled upon an old photo album today and came across some photos of my dad and me. He just recently (about nine months ago), gave me a great Epson printer that is also a scanner. Now, being my mother's daughter, it has taken me this long to really get around to figuring it out. So bear with me as I attempt to scan, upload, add some witticisms, and dazzle you with my technological prowess. Seriously, I'm not kidding. I'm the biggest Luddite on the block. So here goes.
Learning to read.
My favorite apple dress.
At the Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Kayaking on Conway Lake (Conway, NH)
Got the matching hats. Looking pretty cool.
This one is after feeding the ducks at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Watch out Tubs and Crockett. You've got nothing on Vermont Vice. Dig my Dad's Ray Bans, but what the heck am I wearing?

I guess we could join the circus if we had to.

Freckles and a secret.

Top of the mountain. I'm tired.

So cool on that skateboard with the helmet and awesome socks and sneaker combo.

My first flute recital

ALERT!! ALERT!! BAND GEEK! That's me on my grandfather's vibraphones working on my four mallet technique in the jazz band. Sigh.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my trip down memory lane. I still need to figure out how to make the images larger in the scanning process. If anyone has any tips, please share them.
Best,
Jennifer

I loved your photos. My favorite was "Top of the mountain. I'm tired." Your Father was a handome man too. :)
lovely memories.
Here's some info on scanning pics you might find useful:
Scan Photos and Save Photos
You and your father look like you make a great pair....You are truly a lucky girl!
After scanning, I open all my pics with Picasa, a free photo editing software program, a free download from Google.
With Picasa, you can add watermarks, and alter the color to remove haze, restore black to sepia, brighten the faded colors, you can make colors funky, you can crop, and you can export them into a folder that you'd use to upload to Gather. Or elsewhere.
You can resize the photos from Picasa.
I don't think you can enlarge from Picasa, but they are pretty big once they go into Picasa.
When I upload to Gather, the image is usually pretty large. If it does not fill the entire publishing window (and I want it to), then I do this:
Grab a corner (I use the bottom right hand corner) and pull. This will enlarge the image both width and length without distorting it.)
If you want to make an image smaller, grab the corner and pull inward, making it smaller.
IF an image is too fat or too skinny, pull on the height to make it fatter, or to make it skinnier.
Does that help?
