My son the streaker

Why does my son feel the constant need to strip himself of all clothes below the waist? Since he finally became daytime potty-trained he thinks it's cute to take his clothes off and run around the house. He always says he has to potty before he does it, but it seems as if only 1 out of 10 times does he actually need to go...most of the time he is just using it has an excuse.

Even after I put him to bed he will take his pajama bottoms and his diaper off for no apparent reason other than the fact that he can.

How long does it take to grow out of this stage? Because to be honest, I don't have the energy or the patience to continue dressing him several times a day.

Brittney, Sky is still at this stage that's for sure, and he turned three in March. Actually both of my boys prefer to strip down to their underwear, when there are no guests around...taking into consideration that it is hot, hot, hot down here, I don't really blame them:)

aww, i remember those day. BOTH my boys went thru that stage! I got to where i just let them run around that way, i got tired of dressing them too. as long as he is in ur own home there is not problem with that. my boys went thru that stage for a few months, when i stopped trying to dress them and giveing them attention for being in the nude, they starting dressing again. Hugs 2 ya hun!

It's tapered off now, but sometimes mine still comes out of his room completely naked, or only wearing a shirt. He dresses himself, so even if he did pee on his pants (which he does occasionally if he waits to long to go to the bathroom, because he doesn't get his pants down far enough), he could dress himself in something else. He just sometimes chooses not to.

If I could convince him to leave his underwear on, it might not bother me so much...but even though we live in a rural area, you can easily see into our living room and kitchen areas when driving by our house because we have so many windows.

Actually Dnbuster, I would love to just ignore it, and I tried that for awhile, but my husband can't stand that he does what all little boys naturally do--it's like a magnet, LOL! And you would think being a man he would understand...
