I need some help with getting Kenzie on a sippy cup. She will drink out of the ones with a silicone mouth piece, but she chokes and gets it all over her. She wont even put her mouth around on with a soft plastic mouth piece. What can I do?!?!?!? I want to get her on one that has a stopper in it ((which is the one with the soft plastic mouth piece)) so it doesn't get all over my carpet and all over her clothes!! PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you in advance!

Get one with a straw! those are the ones that were the faves with my kids! They don't leak either!
Is there any specific way to show her how to use it? Or will she just know what to do? Thank you for the advice!!
You can show her, then just give it to her! Let her play with it and it won't take her long to figure it out! Good luck!
we use those sippy cup with the nipple top first untill gdaughter chew them now we have the one that has the value on the lid to go turtle (slow)or rabbit(fast)
i see we're in a posting mood today!! lol
i like bridget's idea. "let her play with it and it won't take her long to figure it out." :)
what we had to do was put something they would like in the cup and nothing that liked in the bottle
Give her the one you want first as a toy to use while she's in her high chair- empty, but something she can play around with. Then, start filling it with small amounts of water, until she figures out how to get some out of it. It's a learning process she will grasp in her own time.
Thanks Heather!!! =)
There's one that's made especially for one-year-olds. You may want to check out the spouts too to see if the spouts you're having her use are the smaller ones or if she's got the larger ones. It might be good to compare them. My daughter also said that she got one for one of her kids where the valve inside was adjustable, but she doesn't know if they're still available. Good luck, Erinn! She'll get there... all in her own time. :)
Thank you for the advice Marilyn =)
