Last week I seen on freecycle a computer posted. They said it was an older one but I thought would be great for a first computer for James. I replied and was excited that I they responded that I got it! On Thursday we headed out to get it.
We got it home and I put it together downloaded a few games onto my laptop then put on disc to his computer. I did find out though after trying to install a few games there are going to be a few upgrades I need to make. First one being ram he don't have much at all. But for a first computer and free I am excited and so is he.

If you don't use freecycle I would recommend it. I have gotten a lot of things in good shape from there as well gave some things no longer needed by us. I look at it as a way of helping someone else in need.
To join go to freecycle.org sign up for the county nearest you. Sometimes counties will let you join if you work in that county or just live close by them, check the rules on that counties freecycle.
After you are accepted you look through the posts, if you find one giving away that has something you could use you respond to them. You may also find something that someone else could use that you have not in use, you respond to them as well. If you have something you want or something to give away, all you do is post the item and wait for responses. It is most generally first to respond first to get. I have noticed however lately because of individuals not picking up when they said they would that some are saying they are sitting by curb first come gets.

It ended up being so slow has windows 98 in it. Not much memory at all in it. I ended up junking it and buying one from a friend of mine
At least, James got another one which is probably better than mine!! LOL
