My daughter has kidney reflux, and she's be getting kidney infections. Well, tomorrow we are off to the hospital to get a cat scan. She's in severe pain, and I can't believe they make you wait for a test like this. Anyway, I'm hoping she's all right but a prayer request can't hurt.

You're right they should not make her wait.
Mooch
My little one had kidney reflux. We finally found out when she was two, after she'd spend the first two years of her life sick, with doctors telling me "it's just a virus, it will go away" because I was constantly bringing her in.
I can't tell you how many times her doctor apoligized to me after that last time when I went in to the office and DEMANDED they find out what was wrong with my child. I'm sure they must have thought I was a total nutcase, until they did the tests and found out she had indeed been sick each and every one of those times.
Carol, is your daughter a candidate for surgery or are they saying that she too old for that?
Katie was at level 5 on a 1-5 scale, which means they completely removed one of her tubes and totally reconstructed it and then reattached it.
But I know they don't always do surgery for the older ones. They said I am not a candidate for surgery. But part of that is I'm only a 2.5 on that scale, so I need to watch the caffiene intake (very hard for me) because it swells those tubes and also I need to drink cranberry juice or take cranberry pills on a regular basis.
I hope you can get this straightened out. I will say if she can get the surgery it does cure things once and for all... Kate had to go back once a year for 8 years for ultrasounds to see how things were. On the last visit they said she was pretty much done growing and everything was perfect and she could live a normal life from here on out.
I hope you get some good news and things work out for the best. I'll say lots of prayers, because it's not only painful, but scary as well.
