Sometimes I wish I were a butterfly. Camera hanging down dejectedly I watch another beauty fly away. Flirtatious beauty in lemon yellow, high up in the blue sky in the blink of an eye.
My gather friend Jean posted a lovely butterfly poem this morning.
I've no idea what came over me, but inspired by her words, my
fingers tapped out a melody of their own.
I wish I were a butterfly ...

Try not to cringe, if you think I write bad poetry:) Indulge me as your gather friend and enjoy the photo, it will make up for your fleeting moment of misery.
Oh to be a butterfly
feeling the warmth of the sun on my wings
carried by the wind,
fluttering, floating,
suspended in warm summer air

Experiencing the lightness of being,
feeling the heartbeat of the universe
part of divine abundance

Knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt
that all is as it should be

From the first stirring of awareness
within a fuzzy cocoon
to immobilizing cold in the end

Living in the moment.

OK you are all safe from my poetic waxings for at least another six months:)
Thanks for looking!
Remember to enjoy the little things in life,
upon reflection you may discover
those are the things which give comfort, joy,
solace and meaning to our lives.

Great summary of a butterfly life. A true poet doesn't shy away from endings and darkness.
