Thanksgiving Grace

For years I have stumbled at that moment when our family and friends have gathered together for Thanksgiving.  Holding hands, I hand this prayer to our newest friend or family member and cherish the moment, thanks to Ralph Waldo Emerson:

For rest and shelter of the night.

That's it - the best expression of being grateful - from my own soul or the entire universe if it were. We're all interconnected and experience the same feelings.

I'm copying this one. I have a little book of blessings that I sometimes bring out for grace while entertaining friends. I admit always that I lack the graces!

This grace has been a lifesaver, Laurun - we now use it every time we get together! I also became completely at a loss when faced with a table full of friends and family, holding hands, and no idea what to say. Saved by Ralph Waldo!
