A week later, how did you all make out for Thanksgiving and Black Friday? Hopefully everything went well for you!
Everything for us went great! We actually had 3, yes THREE, Thanksgivings this year, which was nice, but tiring also!
Thanksgiving #1: (actual Thanksgiving day) Started out with Justin and I sleeping in; me until around 9am or so, him until around 10am. After waking up, having breakfast and being lazy for a majority of the day, we had to start getting ready for dinner over at his parents house at 3pm. I was in charge of the stuffing and green bean casserole, which apparently came out great! Lots of compliments after dinner :) We showed up probably 15 minutes early, just to the stuffing and casserole could have a chance to warm up a bit from the ride over before dinner. All of his dad's side were pretty much there, so it was a very fun Thanksgiving :) After dinner and dessert, at last minute, we decided to go out Black Friday shopping; after looking through a couple ad's Justin found one for a 40" 1080 HD TV for only $248 at Walmart, and luckily it was part of the midnight sale, NOT 5am sale like last year! So we had a great Thanksgiving day!
Thanksgiving #2: (Saturday night) Friday night my parents actually came into town to celebrate Thanksgiving over at my grandma's house Saturday night (dad's mom.) Anyway, my mom, dad and their two little shih tzu's (Daisy and Molly) came over to make pies for dinner and go out to Ikea. They got to our house probably around 10am with Panera bagels for breakfast (yum!) and my mom and I got started on making a couple pumpkins pies. After the pies were done, we all headed out to Ikea to do a bit of shopping. My mom bought a couple things for her house, and she actually bought us a changing pad and a couple covers, which was very nice. As for Justin and I, we were very good and ended up not buying anything, just getting ideas and planning upgrades on our house, all within time of course. After Ikea, we headed over to my grandma's house for dinner, which went well. It's always nice to all hang out together since we don't get to very often, all of us living so far apart.
Which leads us to Thanksgiving #3: (Sunday afternoon) Sunday afternoon we were expected over and other grandparents house (mom's dad and step-mom.) Lunch was around 2pm, and I think we got out there around 2:30 or so (fashionably late :) So all in all the visit was nice; it's good to see family you haven't in a long time. Not much happened after lunch, Justin and I just headed home and relaxed and enjoyed our new TV ...... well until about 6pm!
Around 6:30pm Sunday night, we headed over to Justin's brother and sister-in-law's house for family dinner. After a weekend of running here and there for lunches and dinners, it was nice to only drive 5 minutes down the road to Ryan and Katie's for dinner and to relax with Justin's immediate family :) Great end to a busy weekend!
Anyway, that was our very busy, very fun weekend filled with LOTS of food! So how was your Thanksgiving? Did you travel anywhere to see family, or just have a nice Thanksgiving at home? Did you go out Black Friday shopping and find some good deals?
