My four-year-old grand daughter's reaction to a Christmas gift she received last night was over the top. She wanted toys, but her aunt gave her a shirt and matching blanket. I wish I had a video of her reaction.
She looked at first in disbelief; she gasped; and then she looked around and slammed it to the floor. She returned to the offending bag, and looked in it again. It was empty. All that bag offered her was a soft blanket and pretty shirt. She was not a happy camper.
Then, her parents were embarassed and told her to say thank-you for her lovely gift. Well, that was not about to happen. Lesson learned! At the ripe old age of four, the kids want toys.
She then approached my five-year-old grand daughter and tried to even up the score by taking one of her gifts. But the older one held tight. Merry Christmas!
