Baby # 3 ~ It's A BOY

Well we found on on Dec 7th that baby # 3 is a boy!!  I also found out at that appt that my cervix was shortening, and so I got sent to see a specialist a few times and on Dec 21 I ended up having to check in to the hospital and have a cerclage.   Especially since I was also about 80% effaced at my final appt, the dr felt it was important that surgery be done quickly.   For those who don't know a cerclage is sort of like a thick rubberband that holds your cervix together and keeps it closed so that the baby does not deliver too early.  They had to stitch everything back closed then place the cerclage in place.   

In between I spent some time on bed rest, and after surgery I had to spend the first almost 2 weeks on very light duty, not even laundry or vacuuming... 

So I spent a couple of days in the hospital, 90miles away from home, but luckilly, was able to be home for Christmas.   I have to follow up with the specialist again on Friday, and will hopefully get to start going back to work.  Then I think it is usually around 37 weeks when they remove the cerclage for me to go into labor normally. 

I never had these type of complications before with my other two kids, so the drs were really not sure what caused me to have problems this time, but I am just glad that they did catch it and that we got it taken care of when we did.  

Anyway, that is the update on me, otherwise things are going well.  I attached a pic of me from last Thur, when I was 25 weeks.  Today I am 25w6days.   I also added an u/s pic of my lil' man :)
